Duties & Responsibilities:

Plan, implement, monitor and adjust innovation/change pathways in inclusive business models in selected pilot
Chains within the IMM program in the country
Plan, coordinate, implement and monitor actions leading inclusion of smallholder farmers in the market
Develop, strengthen and support business linkages between FOs and private companies.
Strengthen the entrepreneurial attitude, skills and capacities of FOs
Provide strategic and technical guidance to FOs.
Design, test, and validate change/innovations in the linked business models Monitor and document the innovative processes in the business models.
Contribute to the organizational development and strengthening of farmer organizations and export companies. build up a close relationship with other private companies interested in sustainable sourcing from smallholder farmers

Education:

Masters in Agriculture, Horticulture, or equivalent by experience
Experience:
At least 3 years in value chain development in East- Africa, working with Farmer Organisations and private companies.
Experience as entrepreneur or farmer is an asset.


Knowledge and skills:

- Has an in depth understanding of the functioning of value chains
- Has a good understanding of sourcing policies of companies
- Has a good understanding of and experience working with FOs
- Has a good understanding of national and global market dynamics
_ Communicates clearly in a variety of settings and styles and has good networking skills - Is creative and has a sense for innovation and experiments
_ Experience in the horticultural sector and various types of certifications particularly Global GAP.

General skills:

- Good computer operation Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Good proficiency in English (speaking and writing)

Partnership for Nutrition in Tanzania (PANITA) is a growing and dynamic civil society platform for Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) with over 280 members located in all regions of Tanzania with mission to advance advocacy efforts and implementing nutrition interventions through strengthening the capacity, increase mobilization and coordination of CSOs, private sector organizations, the media and other development partners facilitate a more effective national and local response to malnutrition. It is currently hasted by Save the Children International, Tanzania programme office.
PAN ITA is looking for a consultant with positive attitude, clean and proven consultancy records to support the Parliamentary Group Championing Nutrition, Food Security and Child Rights (PGNFSCR) to develop and agree on a set of nutrition recommendations deriving from Hunger and Nutrition Commitment Index (HANCI) which is to be integrated into political parties' election manifestos and position paper for engaging with Members of Parliament in influencing development plans and budgets on behalf of Save the Children and PANITA.
The consultant will support the PGNFSCR to develop a set of nutrition recommendations deriving from Hunger and Nutrition Commitment Index (HANCI) to be integrated into political parties' election manifestos and position paper lor engaging with Members of Parliament in influencing development plans and budgets. The consultant is expected to review and analyze relevant national and international research, policy information and documents that will facilitate the development of the two documents among other responsibilities.

Minimum of University or higher degree in M&E, Social sciences, Project management or related fields with proven at least 2 Years of experience of working in development of functioning MEAL systems, planning, monitoring and evaluation, audits, reviews related to Child Protection programmes, with practical experience of developing real time evaluations, assessment systems and researches and also undertaking evaluations or participating in leading evaluation/review/research teams.
