International Rescue Committee is recruiting a Child Counselor to be based Nyarugusu Camp, Kasulu, Tanzania

Deadline: 21st November 2014

Terms: This is a fulltime position

Duties: Identify and provide counseling to, children who have experienced trauma; Manage one of IRC SHLC’s in Nyarugusu Camp where counseling activities, psychosocial support services and informal educational services will be provided; Manage q Child Protection Officers (CPO) in running the Centre, overseeing the development and implementation of a psychosocial program (implemented by the CPO and 6 incentive social workers); Manage the program budget in close collaboration with the CYPD Manager; Deliver effective psychosocial support and care training to CPO and incentive social workers.

Education: Diploma in social work or relevant social science with at least 1 years relevant work experience; OR at least 3 years relevant work experience

Experience: Experience working with children and youth, and especially vulnerable youth desirable.
