Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Executing plans, performing quality assurances and supervising LIFT II country activities, monitoring, evaluations, and reporting;
• Coordinating with LIFT II HQ team and FHI 360 Tanzania Offices to ensure all programmatic activities are in compliance;
• Coordinating with appropriate stakeholders in all aspects of project planning, monitoring and implementation;
• Documenting learning, opportunities for synergy with local partners and projects and advise on strategies for scale up of ES/L/FS as part of NACS;
• Technical representation for LIFT II in relevant national TWG’s, meetings and strategic partnerships;
• Overseeing technical assistance and guidance for LIFT II Iringa Region activities and other areas as project evolves;

Requirements:

• Advanced degree in economics, community development, agricultural studies, health or related discipline;
• At least 6-8 years of work experience, including experience in economic strengthening, livelihood and/or food security programming, including technical assistance, program design and implementation, and/or monitoring and evaluation;
• Experience in technical implementation and administrative management of country activities such as development of tools and guidelines, community engagement and provision of training;
• Experience working closely with government ministries including health, agriculture and gender and child welfare in Tanzania;
• Experience with USAID-funded /or other donor projects and programs;
• Experience supporting referral systems and/or networks highly desired;
• Technical understanding of economic strengthening and livelihood approaches and current standards of practice;
• Understanding of household vulnerability, the economics of vulnerable households and targeting of ES/L/FS services to vulnerable groups;
• Knowledge of HIV and nutrition activities and MOHSW structures in Tanzania (desirable);
• Excellent English writing skills, with demonstrated ability to write effectively for a range of audiences and purposes (e.g. tools and materials for service providers, guidelines for government partners, work plans and reports for donors);
• Strong communication and oral presentation skills on technical topics for varied audiences, including policy makers, program managers, service providers, and technical experts;
• Ability to facilitate multi-stakeholder processes and effectively implement activities within complex government systems;
• Ability to work independently and take initiative;
• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks at one time;
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Ability to translate technical information into practical guidance and tools for program managers and service providers.
