General Roles and Responsibilities

Program Leadership and Capacity Development Communication and Resource Development
Staff Supervision and Mentorship Budget Management


Master's Degree in Public Health, Education, International Development, or close related field
6-8 years of comparable work experience, including supervisory and leadership role with at least 2-3 years in resource-limited international settings
Knowledge and experience with health systems strengthening
Knowledge and experience in the field of pre-service medical education strengthen  and reform (e.g. curriculum and faculty development, accreditation, innovation student learning)
Knowledge and experience in the development of training materials, adult learning, management of complex training programme deliverables
Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, flexibility, diplomacy, willingnesslisten, and respect for colleagues
Experience working in international team settings Experience leading complex, multi-faceted projects Experience managing large project budgets
Demonstrated ability to facilitate communication between professionals with a variety cultural backgrounds in a respectful and diplomatic manner and to enhance effect partnerships
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across teams, donors and government partners
Strong public presentation skills and writing skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills; close attention to detail

Strong organizational, electronic file management, and computer skills including MS Office, Power Point,  Excel and Access
Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications:

10-15 years of comparable work experience, including supervisory and leadership roles, with at least 5-7 years in resource-poor international settings
Experience in the field of HIV and AIDS
Knowledge and experience in distance education, including print-based and e-Learning modalities
Experience leading M&E or quality improvement strategies for large projects
Experience in results-based management frameworks, logic models or similar frameworks
Proficiency in Kiswahili
