Qualifications and Experience:

• Explore and implement feasible possibilities of providing comprehensive HIV care and treatment services outside a health facility setting through youth-friendly service centers, particularly those targeting KPs.
• Establish/strengthen linkages with other organizations working in family planning, home based care, reproductive health services to ensure harmonization of resources and cost effective use of resources in program management.
• Provide technical assistance to ZACP and Zanzibar Drug Commission on delivery of HIV prevention services to injection drug users and other key populations, including safer injection practices, condom use, STI prevention and treatment and design of linkage/referral networks for HIV testing, STI care, substance use rehabilitation, and HIV care and treatment.
• Coordinate THPS technical assistance provision to HIV service organizations and clinical sites to scale up or enhance IDU-specific services, including training of HIV clinic staff to provide risk reduction counseling related to substance use and overdose prevention, safer sex behaviors, effective treatment of IDU-related skin infections, and provision of specialized adherence support for HIV-infected IDUs.
• Work in collaboration with the ZACP care and treatment team lead and with the THPS Senior clinical advisor regarding sensitization of CTC medical staff on care needs of current and former drug users.
• Provide TA to the ZACP and Zanzibar Drug Control Commission in the design of information/education/communication campaigns and of behavior change and
Communication materials related to HIV prevention among IDUs and other key populations.
• Work with Zanzibar Central Medical Stores (CMS) department to build capacity in timely forecasting and ordering of HIV supplies and commodities to ensure an uninterrupted supply of HIV related commodities and supplies.
• Facilitate joint ZACP/THPS data collection, compilation, analysis, dissemination of results and data sharing  for program monitoring, evaluation and improvement
• Assure adherence to defined national quality standards in all program activities
• Serve as representative of THPS to partners, government authorities and local stakeholders in Zanzibar.
• To perform other duties as assigned by THPS supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience:

• MD/ Social Scientist/Nursing Officer preferably with training and experience of working with Key population program management a must.
• Masters in Public Health (MPH) will be an added advantage.
• At least three years experience in program planning and management in resource constraint settings.
• At least three years working experience with HIV/AIDS programming.
• Familiarity with health care system in Zanzibar.
• Strong supervisory and management and team oriented skills.

PMTCT Field Officer at THPS International in Tanzania

Job Title: PMTCT Field Officer

Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of THPS PMTCT/Peds advisor, M&E Director, Zanzibar Program manager and Senior Clinical Advisor participate in the ZACP annual PMTCT work plan development process.
• Conduct joint ZACP/THPS focused supportive supervision and mentorship to the site staff to oversee program implementation.  S/He shall visit every PMTCT site at least once in a month for low volume sites and at least twice in a month for high volume sites to strengthen the program at the site through identifying gaps and collaborating with other THPS staffs and ZACP team to find solutions.
• Provide direct, onsite support to nurses and clinical officers working at RCH units in all ZACP supported PMTCT sites to establish and strengthen services and provide ongoing mentoring and support to implement the current National PMTCT guideline recommendation.
• Develop linkages between various HIV programs and community based organizations working with HIV positive women to ensure their linkage to existing support groups
• Work with health facility staff and HIV positive pregnant/postpartum women to support the establishment and monitor the Psychosocial Support Groups (PSGs) for PMTCT at the facilities.
• Ensure ZACP M&E & IEC materials, SOPs and job aides are at every PMTCT site.
• Review and maintains a resource binder (resource mapping) of current PMTCT information for Health care worker education purposes and referral resources.
• Help facility staff own the data through improving preparation and make use of PMTCT monthly summary reports.  Conduct joint ZACP/THPS data collection from the health facilities implementing PMTCT program for monthly and quarterly reports to ZACP and THPS.
• Establish and maintain a strong relationship with health facility staff delivering PMTCT services in all districts of Unguja and Pemba.
• Working closely with ZACP and Central Medical Stores to ensure timely ordering, stocking and supply of PMTCT and Family planning supplies to PMTCT sites.
• Prepare and timely submit site visit reports, ensuring observed issues which need immediate intervention are communicated immediately upon return from the field.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least Diploma in medical related preferably registered Nurse.
• Post graduate training in public health is an advantage
• Practical experience (minimum 3 years) in implementing PMTCT and in HIV/AIDS programs in Tanzania is mandatory
•  At least three years professional experience in HIV program management
